I am hoping to install double doors in the
hallway of my flat, effectively dividing the
front from the rear sleeping area.
I would like a combination of sound reduction,
fire resistance & security.
The plan was to reinforce the frame with steel &
maybe the door but I have yet to come across a
suitable door. The doorway measures 2360 mm high
x 1490 wide & ideally, I wanted to divide this
equally with 2 tall doors approx 2355 x 740 mm,
to create a feature of the long panels.
A plain flush door is preferred but so far the
best offer is a doorblank 45 x 2135 x 915mm at
£95 each.
Cost is an issue here, as I have limited funds & some
of my quotes have soared into quadruple figures.
As I write, the local kids are screaming up &
down my access balcony, reminding me that if I
don't sort this out soon, I should be designing
a padded cell!
