I have some ceramic disc quarter turn bath taps were the grub screw is between sizes. 2.5mm too slack. 3mm too tight. Is there a way around this so I can tighten the grub screw.
Thanks it seems to be somewhere between 2.5mm and 3mmImperial sized hexes?

Would I used a file for this?1. A lot of the grub screws used in taps are rubbish. Too soft, so the correct size Allen key spins and makes the hole too big.
2. If you have a sharpening stone, rub down the end of an Allen key, 10 strokes at a time, at a shallow angle, until you can get it to fit. Preferably a tight fit where you have to tap the key with a hammer to get it in. Doesn't matter if it ends up a bit wedge shaped.
3. Replace with a decent quality grub screw and buy a new Allen key.
