Hello,

I'm fixing a bad bath seal and was going to pop a nice new set of tap heads as the finishing touch .. but ...

I've seen a few posts on removing stuck tap heads, but just wanted to ask if anyone's seen one like this? The hot tap head was a pretty standard acrylic piece which easily lifted off once the single screw was removed as you can see on the left. But the cold tap head will not budge, I've tried wriggling and prising and looking for some kind of hidden screw .. but nothing. It looks like it should just lift easily straight up and off.

Do you think it's just stuck from limescale and will come free with a bit of wriggling / heat / hits from a hammer? Or is there some trick I've missed to remove it easily? Am I going to break the whole thing if I put too much into it?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Josh.

Hi

The tap is just stuck on the splines. Pour hot water over it that might free it. The tap might break with to much force.

you can also try squirting a bathroom cleaning spray that removes limescale. You may have to spray repeatedly for a day or two. Keep trying to wiggle it.

Thanks! It didn't like it, but a bit of hot water, a bit of bathroom cleaner and a pair of multigrips did the trick. Nice new set of tap heads now.
