Tap shroud problem

Does anyone know for sure how this shroud comes off before I rip the chrome to shreds or break the tap completely?

Assuming I'm looking at that narrow disk at the top and it's either pop off or threaded. But it won't budge. No allen screw or anything similar nearby.

The silver disc needs to be removed by unscrewing it off. Pouring very hot water over may expand it enough to break the bond ,often a build up of limescale in the threads make it hard to separate the two.
