I have one ofthese 'posh' bathroom sink taps that has it mono.

It is old plumbed in but growls really loudy when turn on - is this a probelm with the tap, the filter or something else.

A plumber said to me the other day "some taps just growl". Do I need to tak eit back and swap it?

It shouldnt growl or snarl or even show its teeth

if your unhappy take it back. I dont know the make of tap, Hp Lp or if its ceramic disk, washer etc so cant comment any further

What are you feeding it, Bonio's are good for their teeth and make them do really nice thick poos for people to tread in on the path and slip for at least six inches

Many monoblock taps have check valves (non return valves) in their input connections. There are like spring loaded plugs in the pipe which are opened by water flowing through. They vibrate. Sometimes they are vital but often just a pain. They growl especially at low flow rates. Do both H and C come from the loft tank, or is the cold from the mains and the hot a tank, or both from a combi...?

The tap is mains fed cold and combi boiler fed hot.

I think this could be it you know - it olny growls when the tap is not fully open - problem is that when the tap is fully open the pressure is too high!

Can these be removed, replaced etc or do I need a new tap?
