The plastic body tap on the over sink water heater in our office has started leaking and on closer inspection the actual body has a small crack in it!

Its the kind of water heater which has no integral tap, you just stop the incoming water flow and that stops the output.

We have temporarily replaced the plastic body tap with a 15mm stop tap which is something like this:

Is this the correct thing to be using or should it be some other type of tap?

Cheers matey. Yup its the mains inlet to the heater there are no other taps on the thing at all. I just wasn't sure if stop taps were only designed to be used once in a while to turn a whole house off of if they were ok to use a bunch of times a day for turning the hot water on for washing up! :D
