Hi all

Attempting my first taping and filling with toupret interior filler today. I've did the first coat of it a few hours ago. Think I was possibly too thin with it as can still see orange tape coming through. How long should i leave before applying a second coat?
Also, are you supposed to stand between coats or only after final one?

Cheers

Apply second coat just as it's setting.
If the surface has some suction the material can start to set in 15mins so with the same mix you can get two layers on. After 45 mins when it's chemically setting you mix more and get that on. Just easier to go over damp filler Vs dry.
If you have to skim over dry filler it's fine. Just not so easy as it firms up quickly making it hard to spread.

Re sanding.
When it all dry sand. Only need to sand between skims if you don't skim it very well and it's dry.

That orange mesh needs a layer over and don't over sand surface or you will see the mesh through paint. I stopped using it because of that reason
