Hi,

I've got a 110mm TCT core drill very similar to this one:

But as it's the first time I've used one of these (to drill a hole for a dryer vent) I'm not sure whether you're supposed to use hammer action or not when drilling with it.

I've got a 2KG Makita SDS to use with it and have been trying it briefly with hammer action turned off. It's slow going though, through house brick, single layer.

Thanks

If its hard going put it on hammer, TCT ones can be used with or without.

Diamond ones shouldn't be used with hammer.

I've got a 50mm TCT bit, I never needed to use hammer, and it went straight through the brick. Had to be patient though. Hammer is OK as suggested but be careful these are cheap bits and the little TCT cutters can fall off!
