Tecnik 600 dishwasher won't reset

I have a tecnik dishwasher and I can't reset it. When I go through the instructions in the manual, and then turn it on again the p1 keeps flashing and I can't go any further. I have tried switching it off at the wall and then switched it back on but that doesn't help either. Can anyone advise me what to do please. I telephoned Candy but they just wanted to sell me some machine cleaner!!!
