hi,
does anyone know where i can buy a call restrictor in the uk.they are sold in the US but the manufacturer wants to charge me an arm and a leg to ship it to me here.
i am looking for one of those that you can set to automatically disconnect the call after an hour.you can also program it to restrict calls to certain numbers.
thanks

America has different sockets to us.

My Auntie used to have a key-operated device, massive thing it was, it plugged into the socket and when active stopped any outgoing calls. It somehow gripped the socket so it couldnt be unplugged in its active state.

Had a big phone bill have we?

My bet is he has a call package with free calls upto the first hour.......and chargable there after!

Also, American kit *may* work here, but is not approved for connection to our network.

yep i suspect your spot on :D :D :D ;)

why not try a 1 hour timer [the sort you get for kitchens] tell them to set it for 50 mins and offer 5 or £10 each a month or quarter if no charges are added for over length calls

i am with talk talk pay £21.50 for unlimited calls uk and several worldwide
i also get free 8mb internet

calls not included have a 7p connection charge plus the call charge per min
i pay the additional 45p a month to get 25% off mobile call charges[not the connection fee]

if you dont make many land to mobile calls [perhaps 20short a month]

your bill will be around £25

your 60 min timer will be ideal because you get 70mins on talk talk

thanks .Lectrician, you are right. i have a call package from sky.the only problem is after 60 mins, the charges are really high especially international calls. eg nearly 18p per min if you call germany or belgium and go over the 60min.
i can obvoiusly disconnect and reconnect but the wife keeps forgetting.

Lectrician, can you tell me more about this american product that works here and where i can get it.
thanks

.

sorry Big-all, what is this one hour timer for kitchens.?
can it be connected to the phone. the problem is that the wife will forget to use anything that is independent of the phone. i keep telling her to set a 1 hour alarm before she starts her calls but guess what !!! she doesn't.
thanks
