Hi all

Before I get my driveway done, I want to put feed in for CATV, which is currently at the path.

What cable is used and can I do this myself or is it a telewest job only?

But yeah, Virgin Media will do it themselves.

Why don't you ring and ask them?

Yeah I can really see VM call centre monkey being a lot of help on that one

They really don't like digging things up. Round my way they like to drape green convoluted ducting over the garden, and perhaps scuff a trace of mud over it with their boot.

I got the sales guy to agree they would put it under the paving bricks and come up inside the garage floor, the installers kept saying they couldn't do it and anyway, they hadn't got a spade. In the end the local PM got some of their duct layers who were working locally to lift the paving and put it in. I'm pretty sure it isn't part of their usual service.

If I were you I would dig a good trench and put a roomy duct in (waste pipe will do). You can paint it green with non-drip gloss if you like.

Just stick your own duct in with draw rope, at least you know it will be done right.
