Hello

I'm about to have my kitchen redone and the rip out starts on Monday.

As we'll be without a kitchen for 6 weeks I'm looking to use a utility area to temporarily house a dishwasher and washing machine

I built the utility area and it will be fitted out as part of the new kitchen upgrade. So it has the basic plumbing bits like hot cold and waste. I've attached a picture.

My plan is to add a vertical bit of 40mm (see blue bit) and then stick the two flexible grey pipes in the top (1x washing machine 1x dishwasher). I'll then add a T to the cold feed (no hot needed) to supply both units.

My questions are: is this a good idea for a temporary solution? Will two flexible grey pipes fit in to a single 40mm? What adaptor do I need to go from hep2O to the end of the washing machine / dishwasher hose (cold feed)

I know there will be no U trap but figure that's ok for a short while. It's essentially open now and we don't notice any bad smells etc...

Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Sounds just fine. Try the two into 40mm, I think may fit with a squeeze, but if not, just fit a T, an elbow, and two downpipes.

Yes, but just form a trap with 3 bends and put the two hoses into a standpipe. That'll be fine for now.
