Renderer has asked if I can get the outside lights removed.
Can I just remove (after turning off circuit) and tape the ends, and pin under the eaves during the work? These lights need replacing too (sensors rubbish), so no point in trying to leave them connected and working around them.

I also need to remove the satellite dish, although I've not actually used it since it was put up so could just cut the cable and pull out from loft?

Update - the lights all seem to be fed from this box. Not really sure what is happening, or where those other 2 cables go - I did have some lights removed and new ones put in, so maybe 2 redundant cables and electrician put in a new junction box to handle all the lights in one place. There is an isolator switch in the consumer unit cupboard, which I thought was just for the front light, but maybe that controls all the lights ... will test now...

Bit of a result! The switch that I thought isolated just the front light actually isolates all the outside lights.

The ceiling light is only "isolated" with the light switch - I don't actually need to remove this one so all OK.

Still no idea what all those other cables are, wondering if some are actually redundant and replaced with new electric cables. Will ask my electrician to investigate.

The proper thing to do would be to isolate the circuit, remove the lights, chase cables into the wall with a suitable flush box at each light position and then have the render applied over.
