I have CT 100 run out throughout the house to central wiring cupboard. (accept you might not use CT100 now)
I have CT100 Crimp on connectors.
Anybody familiar with this ... CT100 has a solid core, dielectric, coper tape shield and then copper braided screen.

Do you remove the copper tape shield completely, and push connector inner sleeve under the screen and braid folded back over the pvc outer ?

I'm sure I had a document with step by step pictures - but can't find it.

@Lucid is one of the guys to ask. I personally cut away the foil and trim back the copper braiding before trimming it and crimping the F-type connector on

BTW, although I too call it CT100, it is probable that someone will (correctly) tell you that CT100 was a slightly different specification.

The product name CT100 has sort of been hijacked. The original version of CT100 for digital era installations had the dielectric made up of 5 hollow tubes. This is what's meant by semi-airspaced. There's a page on it with pictures from Wright's Aerials.

https://www.wrightsaerials.co.uk/articles/coax-cable-quality.shtml

More modern versions of CT100-type cable use a foam dielectric. It's all a bit academic though if the stuff is already installed.

For fitting plugs, I tend to use compression rather than crimp. It's a bit kinder to the cable. However, aside from the mechanism of of closing the connector, the fitting process is very much the same.

- Trim and remove about an inch of outer sheath
- Fold the braid back over the remaining sheath and trim to about 1/4 inch
- Remove the foil tape
- Cut back the exposed dielectric to about 1/4"
- Push the plug home over the preped cable end. The white of the dielectric should sit flush with the leading edge inner tube section
- Crimp or compress the plug
- Trim the core with a 45-degree angled cut to form a hypodermic--style point. You don't need more than 1/8th of an inch poking out beyond the plug

OK .. itis the original hollow space dielectric. I bought rolls of 'CT100' from Maplin.
The key bit you have confirmed is remove the copper tape ..

Looked at the web page you mentioned, and good to know that the foil & braid semi-airspaced is good performance.
None of it is outside so no water ingress issues.

Thnx
