I have a radiator that needs coming off the wall as the fixings have come away.

It has a Terrier II TRV on. Turning it, it goes to the frost * symbol, and then I can turn a little more but nothing shows just blank. Does this mean it’s shut off?

All I can see online is the below, but I can’t see a 0 on mine.

I want to shut off both sides, remove radiator, empty it and leave and then still run the system while I get around to fixing the wall and fixings. Is this possible? It’s a combi CH system.

Thanks

I wouldn't trust the TRV to be a tight shut off.
Once removed, blank it off (The TRV outlet) if you are leaving it for any period of time.

You would be much better taking off trv head and using the screw down cap that came with trv.
Many trv valve heads do not shut mechanical off so when rad removed and room goes cold water everywhere!.
You can of course cap outlet of trv instead.

Or a small coin between TRV head and the pin.

Actually I’ve just checked and it does have a 0 on, I couldn’t see before fully, so I presume that the TRV “should” shut off.

On the other side it doesn’t have any cap and it’s just a round brass with a nut, how does this turn off? I’ve looked at another radiator and the opposite side to TRV has a slot where you can turn it. This one it’s just round. I can even remove the nut below it and no water so unsure
