Just to let those with Texecom Connect that the V1 App is being phased out and as of April 2021 you should be on the V2 App.

Texecom advise that the App is currently to be free, and the same functionality as V1 app will be included.

Additional features are to be added that may require subscription although this to my understanding has not yet been finalised.

V2 is currently is only available in a Beta version

The biggest one at the moment seems to be the inability to select critical alerts on the v2 app on ios so that it can override do-not-disturb. There are also some reports of the sound settings changing back to normal sounds when Texecom's special sounds have been selected. It's in beta test so this is the best time to find and fix the bugs.

There you go ....what else is going to raise its head ....? Wasn't pc control missing from V2 ? As per normal they roll out an update without it being fully tested ...

lets be fair, it is Beta currently and there is 5 months to go, just trying to give folk notice of the current sequence of events expected.

Notified my customers today, just so they don't get any shocks if it goes to plan and V1 is turned off in April.

At least we should all be vaccinated by then????

So just to clarify, if someone is currently using V1 and DOES NOT have a Texecom Cloud account will they still be able to upgrade their app to V2 and carry on as before?

Also if someone buys a brand new system after V1 is phased out is is correct that they will not be able to use any app (and alerts) without a Texecom Cloud account?

Hi Paul, V2 will be available free to use like the V1 app, it only makes any difference if you are looking at the extra features as it stands at the moment.

Unfortunately I can't be specific until Texecom have finalised things and its currently subject to change, but as it stands V1 will not work as of April 2021 as it stands, this may change.

Recently we have had Risco introduce charges and that was poorly managed and that was rushed through, although some long standing customers are due to start paying for it in early 2021. New customers are already paying.

Have to just wait and see how things develop.
