A what USB lead is it ?
B is the correct com port ? ( check in Windows USB settings for comm port )

there a lots of reasons why it may not connect.

1. no udl passcode or it doesn't match
2. comport you have connected to is not programed as not used.
3. panel details don't match that selected in wintex.
4.com selected is not the correct comport.

so, check these, as for 4 its probably easier nowadays to check modem setup, pc com and select the comport assigned

still having issues update the thread

Hi,
I am having the same issues. Bought a brand-new tececom usb com lead and cannot connect to my elite 24 panel.

Have triple checked your points above and still cannot connect. The panel is version 2.1.1 and I'm trying to create a backup before flashing 4.0.3.

Any pointers would be great.

In wintex select the correct panel and version ie elite 24 and V 2.x
connect the usb lead to the comport 2 and double check its programmed as not use
what is the error message?

Hi,
The lead is a genuine Texecom USB Com lead

(purchased on Friday along with:
TEXECOM PREMIER FLASH INTERFACE PCB CDH-0001
TEXECOM USB-COM INTERFACE CONNECTOR JAC-0001
TEXECOM CONNECT SMARTCOM CEL-0001)

I have followed your advice and selected the correct panel - elite 24, V2.x and connectd to comport 2. I have used the remote keypad to ensure that all ports are configured as not used and also defaulted the UDL password back to 1234.

Still nothing.

I have tried the same settings in comport 1 and nothing.

Same error: "Connection with Control Panel could not be established - Please check settings and try again!"

I was able to previously connect to the panel with COMwifi, however I never used Wintex to configure the panel - all the configuration was done via RKP two years ago. COMwifi was an upgrade to allow the use of texecom app, but after a year I have upgraded my phone and when I came to reinstall the app - I was unable to get it working 100%. So after some research I saw the new Texecom app and associated hw..

In light of not being able to connect I thought I'd just flash the panel anyway and start afresh with V4 and use Wintex from the start to configure instead of the RKP like before... However, when going through the motions, when I click the correct firmware in Premier Elite Flasher program (P24_V4_03_00_LS1.mot), select the correct COM port and then click 'Flash' (after apply pwr, setting program switch and pressing reset on daughter board) - I get the same error - cannot connect to panel please check your settings...

I have unistalled and reinstalled the USBcom drivers, and have manually changed the port windows assigns and have even resorted to using a spare laptop. Still nothing. I'm actually lost at what the issue could be?

I'm at the point of deciding to default the panel back to factory and trying again. However the one thing stopping me is if I still cannot connect via USB/Wintex - then programming the whole system (9 zones) again will be hard.

secureiam do you have any other pointers please?

Thanks!

Update,

Still cannot connect. I guess it must be a faulty USB cable too?

Go to USB settings on windows what com port is the texecom USB lead ? For example it may say com port 20 ...this is what you will need to set it to ....

Hi,
I've changed the port in Device Manager from COM 1 to COM 12 - each time synching the port within Wintex with no success.

Out of interest what should the baud rate be set to?

Thanks

So this morning I tried from COM 13 to COM 20 with no joy. Itmust be somthing simple (if USB lead is ok that is).

USB lead flashes green when plugged in and PC recognises it. However when trying to connect it flashes Red.

I'll be returning the lead tomorrow for a new one just in case and then will try again. Failing the new lead working correctly I will default the panel and try again.

If anyone else has any options for me to try again today please let me know and I'll bhappy to update the thread with my findings.

Thanks

okay if you are around give us a shout, find it hard to believe that these cables are faulty given what you have said but it does happen I guess.

pictures of where its connected to you panel
confirmation via the keypad that the comport(try comport 2) is programmed as not used
screen shot of modem setup for wintex under pc-com

Hi, I'll screen grab everything when I get back from climbing. I've tried both com ports, but happy to try everything again if it means I can connect.

Can you please clarify which screen is for modem settings?

I'm perplexed as to why I couldn't even flash the firmware. This is what leads me think it's the cable...

Thanks for reply

Can you connect to the panel ...without the flasher ? If so ....have you got the flasher header lead on the correct way ? May be worth uploading a picture of your leads connected to the panel ..
