hi all, I'm after a bit of advice if possible please.

I've recently taken out an old alarm system and replaced it with the texecom excel with the odyssey x and premier compact
Pirs. I have put resistors in the pirs over the alarm and
Alarm to tamper connection point. Trouble is I cannot get the alarm to set as I cannot get the tamper light to go out on the LCD unit, it keeps on saying zone B which I am assuming is the bell, I have disconnected this and it is still on as I have disconnected all the zones and it is still on the LCD unit. The cable between the bell and panel has been changed and I have also taken the LCD unit to the panel and again the light is still on.

As this is the first attempt at this I am stumped a little.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

Cheers

Chris.

If your wiring it EOL have you linked out the global Tamper terminals (Tamp) in the panel?

I would suggest looping out all the tampers until it clears then add each Tamper one at a time.

Hi,

If I link out the tamper terminals the bell sounds outside, what Is meant by looping the tampers?? A link between all the zones in the panel or something different??

A link of wire across tamper terminals. Loop out the Tamp terminals near the zones and the Bell Tamper which will be a link across Ov and Tamp.

How are your PIRs wires up? And what value resistors are you using?

Hi mate, not sure being honest as I am using the ones that came with the kit. i haven't wired in the led connection but would that make a difference?? Once I get in from work tomorrow I will carry out the loop tamper test.

I have 6 core cable at the pirs so 12v is red, 0v is black, alarm
Is blue and tamper is yellow.

In the main panel does it matter which way the tamper and bell connections are in the relevant zones???

Cheers

Chris

if your using the 4k7 and 2k2 resistors, the last time I checked the LCD keypad didn't have access to the menu where you select it.

you can however use the 22K and 10K resistors with the lcd keypad, you have to turn on the resistors for them to work though, without checking the quick guide cant remember what they are off the top of my head.

so what values are you using, do you have lcd keypads only? have you turned them on?
