Hi, I have a Texecom Premier Elite, normal setup with no contact sensors or fobs, just PIRs. So when i activate the alarm and get the message 'Area in exit A', sometimes it stays on this and the tone never stops so assume the alarm never sets. What i think it could be is that when i walk to the keypad, zone 1 is active cos of my movement, and as i have a 1 button alarm set, i dont think the PIR stops detecting so assumes that i havent left the zone. I thought about changing the pulse of the PIR to be faster, but is there anything within Wintex i can set? Thanks.

Yes makes perfect sense, a pro left it like that and you have wintex and the udl code?

you have a door contact on exit door? or just a PIR in the hallway where the keypad is?

Went to look at install yesterday afternoon (been told it wouldn't set) and to be honest it had been messed up badly to the point some wireless devices like the keypad was on the system but not seen by the system properly, along with lots of parts missing, including the magnets for the door contact and to mention a few.

As the original installer called me to look at it, I walked away after creating a list of things that needed doing, missing parts and panel replacing due to its strange behaviour because it had got into such a mess and probably not recoverable with any degree of confidence to function properly.

So wouldn't surprise me completely if installed wrong by a company, but the fact you have wintex and can access the panel its sounds dubious at best.

Sounds like it’s set to entry /exit ....not timed ...not the way to go with no door contact ...

thanks for the relies. yes was installed professionally. i have access to Wintex as i was given the eng/udp code when we setup comip and had to config the details.
No door contact, only pir on exit.

clearly not professional install as it doesn't work as its currently setup, arming mode needs changing (probably) and the PIR programming checking as a minimum but if this is wrong what else is as its very basic mistake to make, not one a regular installer of Texecom gear would make. No door contact can be done but shouldn't, more importantly

I would get the installer back, they should have demonstrated the unit working before leaving, if they did have you been fiddling?

ok will wait for the man to come back. no messing apart frm setting up the keypad app to use comip. like i said, it happens occassionally and i think thats the issue with the pir detection.

The issue is it isn't setup correctly, which throws into doubt the whole installation as a pro should know it isn't right.

comip interesting choice, I expect that's for the keypad app only??? Just Smart com is cheaper.

Hi, I already had an external gsm dialler so just wanted a way to get notifications via internet of alarm state and control and comip fitted the bill.

Its over a year old. Everything is hardwired. made sure of this. Not keen on wireless security devices.

try covering zone 1 pir up set it as normal see if it arms or link zone 1 out you are going to make a bit of racket either way ? or by any chance is it above any sort of radiator or heat source ? i had that in the past years vents also
