Was adding an expander to my Premier Elite 24 panel yesterday, so I knocked off the power and disconnected the internal battery.

I half expected the external sounder to trigger, which it didn't. Should it have?

Depends my battery in bell box isn’t connected so mine doesn’t
How long system been in it could be the battery is dead and needs replacing

Cheers guys - it's only been up a couple of years. I won't lie, I hate heights so roped in a mate to help me.

Will have to check it out at some point

Have you done a bell test to see if bell sounds.
Texecom have a piezo issues in the past

Yeah, everything is functional. Bell and strobe work as expected, the box shows the two flashing LEDs for "normal operation" and I can confirm it goes off if you forget to unset it in the morning!

So I suspect you're right about the battery - either knackered, or not plumbed in properly.
