Texecom Ricochet Data.

Hello,
Just a quicky about what other info the Ricochet system can send, I have a number of P15 PIR's and they sent the current temperature but all my door contacts don't, one of my XP8-w sends temperature data but not the other, the one that does has a newer firmware compared to the other, can you flash the firmware on them. Neither of my wireless sounder do, would be nice to know the outside temperature sometimes, does anyone know which Ricochet units send temperature data and can you easily flash the firmware on a XP8.

The answer is……..

The reality is the micro sensors all did send the temp data and then until relatively recently several versions did not, the current latest versions do.(had this out with Texecom because some of my customers added extra sensors and some of the replacements didn’t provide temps. I would have to look through my notes to confirm the version numbers I am aware of. Didn’t appear to affect anything else specifically, there have been a few improvements to the current versions over it’s predecessors.

Unfortunately, the devices can’t be flashed as a rule, for one Texecom don’t release the firmware for them and some component's change, I don’t have access to a flasher or the firmware.

I know someone was working on doing unofficial updates, but never came off.

Texecom can flash up units if the hardware is right, but this isn’t a service they provide as such. I know of a few that have had things updated, but large customers with specific issues.
