Texecom Veritas Excel EOL Wiring (with image)

Hi, planning to wire a Texecom Veritas Excel Alarm myself. Read about End of Line wiring and was hoping someone would be able to answer my questions please?

Thanks for any replies!

1. Would the 10k resistor go between the "TAMP" on the PIR in the image?

2. Where would it go on the Magnetic contacts please?

3. Can you wire up detectors on EOL and magnetic contacts via the blue and yellow wires to the "TAMP"? (i.e mix and match PIR and Magnetic)

4. Do the resistor go anyway else?

4. The Excel has a built in 16k speaker, can I keep this speaker and add another 16k speaker, or do I need to disable the built in speaker?

I have not used the Texacom so I am talking in general terms

Your image is two small for me to see

Normally with end of line you have two resistors one that goes across the

contact or pir alarm contacts the second resistor goes from one end of

the shunt resistor to one end of the tamper switch

As regards the speaker if you put another one of 16ohms on the panel

will see 8ohms I would remove the on board one.

Imigix is correct in what he has stated

I have a manual in front of me on page 13 of this end of line wiring is

shown the single 10k resistor option is named american

The option I would use is the high security using two resistors 10k and

22k

In practice place the 10k from the right screw ( as shown on the manual

drawing ) of the alarm contact to the left lid ( tamper ) screw in the pir

If wiring a contact as there is no tamper switch the two connections go

under the same spare srew.

Do you need end of line anyway why not just use 4 wire normally closed?
