The 'AA' say we are getting worse at DIY.....is it true?

I wonder if I could get some help from you guys with some research I am doing?

The AA recently published a report saying that DIY could be 'extinct' by 2043. I'd like to find out just how true this is. Are we really getting less interested or able at DIY and are we not teaching our kids how to do stuff?

As part of some studies I am doing, I have put together a tiny ten question survey that should only take a few seconds to complete.

Most members of Alcoholics Anonymous, are usually too drunk to even attempt DIY.

Mind you, they way the Govt keep taxing beer and spirits, I reckon the AA will be extinct by 2043 as well

Ahh the way they fix cars at the roadside, they'll be out of business too. cause all their employees are DIY'ers (they're certainly not car mechanics)

Judging by some of the posts in the CC its not just diy that will be gone, skilled tradesmen are dying out quickly too.

That's what CC is for. It's to nurse the no hoper Gas Safe crowd without the public knowing they are mostly clueless.

Pred I am a pro too, but looking at some of the work in the rogues gallery, it looks like they consulted the Beano!

Some interesting results tho...

The age spread is almost even throughout the range, although you need more gurls (didn't we always!) as 92% of the respondents were of the hairy bottomed persuasion.

Just about every one is happy that they are the business when it comes to getting the job done which is interesting and only a tiny few think that they could do better. Although 8% think that they botch everything.

Surprisingly plastering causes the most headaches, closely followed by plumbing. Interestingly no one is fazed by joinery or decorating (LOL!)

And lastly, 92% would go online to search for DIY answers, good news for the forum!
