Whos going to be observing the minutes silence tomorrow?

I always do and encourage the kids to as well.

IMO the country should stop as best as possible...really annoys me to see people just carrying on like nothings happening...and radio/tv stations should be shut down.

I like to observe the minutes silence.

A lot of young lads lay down their lives in all sides to fight these wars and they deserve respect and remembrance. :(

Never miss it Zampa.Too much given in the past by so many people.God bless them all.

Roughcaster.

isn't it a 2 mins silence?

as far as i know, all the major and most of the minor radio stations observe the 2 mins silence.. ( radio's 1-5 and our local stations do... )

i'm pretty sure that bbc 1 does on the telly too..

I nearly got the sack a few years ago for stopping a punching machine mid sheet during the 2 mins silence...
cost me the price of a 8x4 sheet of 3mm steel.. and would have cost more if the machine got broken..

it just ****ed me off that the thing was thumping away... walked over, hit the e-stop and wrecked a sheet...

I agree with all comments, but the hypocrisy of many sickens me. All the politicians and the Cenotaph etc. the best way they can honour the dead is by not sending our lads into trouble in the first place and therefore adding to the millions already slain.

War is sometimes inevitable, and I know soldiers are there to do a job but they sent are into situations recklessly and without prior consideration to the consequences. Well I'm sure you all know what I'm going about so mini-rant over.

We WILL remember them.

Each year on Remembrance Sunday I watch as my son marches with the Scouts and this year my daughter will join the march with her friends from the Girl Guides. This evening I was asked to join the ex-servicemens section on the march and although I've said yes I'll feel very guilty - my 3 years service was spent in an office at a camp in the Midlands.

Part of our holiday in France this year was spent visiting war graves, museums and even battlefields. We remembered them and will do so again tomorrow.
