As from today shops are not allowed to order standard incandescent light bulbs in the 25w and 40w range. The 60w and 100w were banned in 2009.
Ok, I'm all for saving energy but for them to come out with the following statement warning people not to use 'industrial grade' lamps is just nonsense and will frighten people into throwing money away by making sure they go out and buy new bulbs. God forbid that something should happen to someone but are insurance companies really going to be able to tell what grade light bulb they had?
'An official guidance paper says such bulbs are "declared by the manufacturer as unsuitable" for illuminating household rooms and adds: "Consideration should be given to the terms and conditions of any household insurance policy if such lamps are used for illuminating your house."
