My new place (yet to move into) has stripped floorboards.
I can't say they are that attractive. The varnish seems to make them look a bit yellowy.
I would prefer something darker, but I am lazy and do not wish to strip them right back to bare wood.
What is the cheats way to tidy up tired boards?
If I were to lightly sand the surface and use a darker coloured varnish, do you think it might look naff? Or not too bad?
