Hasn't it been said with Oxfam only 1p in the £ gets to the front line the rest is swallowed up by directors wages etc, thats why I only give to small or local charities

Leading cancer charities are significantly funded by pharmaceutical companies who use them to announce break throughs and help share prices. They support research, a good thing, but do very little in the way of actual help to people suffering.

Mind you, not excusing this lot for a sec, but is it not the case that many 'charities' only allocate a relatively small % of donations to the cause, albeit they're operating legally.
