a recent comment got me thinking do we really need the cash sapping royals?

are they an financial asset or a financial hindrance?

historically this country is a kingdom. for recent generations, it is all we know.

but are these views dated?

i personally don't mind coffing an axtra 50p per week in taxes to keep the royals. rather they had it than some scrote anyhow. ;)

I think as an example of the British population they are a complete disaster. I dunno why but whenever I see Prince Charles the word 'inbreeding' springs to mind. Harry is a useless yob and there are hundreds on the payroll that I've never even heard of. However, the tourists like 'em so I vote they remain.

Gawd bless em I say

as lord kitchener once said

"england needs you, to die in your thousands in france while the royal family stay at home supporting the germans"

I know its a quote from viz, but dont you think its time we kicked out these pretenders and put our REAL royal family back on the throne?

I would say lets have a president, but there is a good chance that it could be BLAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leave them alone I say. Nanna has just won an award so they must be doing some good.

They should stay, but be thoroughly self supporting.

Which is not very hard, they have so many fingers in so many pies; land and castles and tourist attractions etc etc. Just being in the Royal Family brings in enough dough without them needing taxpayers money. They are just posh 'benefit' fraudsters.
