Does anyone here own one or have use of one?

I'm thinking about purchasing one, but have no experience with them, and what features to look for or are not needed.

Ideally I'd like to be able to view live images, and it would be nice to be able to take photos with it too, but not essential.

I know it's going to be an expensive purchase, so I'll be doing plenty of research first.

You need to define what you want it for, as the units have varying resolution for different purposes. If you are checking M&E stuff or components, then you may not want a unit designed for buildings

All have live view

Fluke have introduced a "visual thermometer" the VT02 which is a halfway house unit, but at a lot less cost than a full IR unit

They all tend to do the same thing - view and record to a memory card.
The more expensive units have greater sensitivity, wider temperature ranges and wider lenses

I used to use an Agema to survey electrical installations, was a good piece of kit, could inspect in real time and capture stills for the reports, what are you hoping to do with it?
