Hello
I have recently bought a battery powered digital thermostat to replace my Siemens mechanical type. Someone has told me that you can't replace a mechanical thermostat with just any digital one. I was under the impression however that it was just a switch ie on and off. Can anyone shed some light on the subject. My boiler is an Ideal Icos traditional condensing which is controlled via a Siemens RWB29 timer unit. The new thermostat Specs are below:-
GENERAL SPECIFICATION AND DATA:
TEMPERATURE RANGE 5-30C
DIFFERENTIAL +/-0.5C FROM SET TEMPERATURE
TEMPERATURE ACCURACY +/-0.5C
BATTERIES 2 X AA (1.5VDC)
RATED SWITCHING POWER 250V, 5A RESISTIVE LOAD AND 2A INDUCTIVE LOAD
Many Thanks
Andy
