At the moment we have just a simple mixer tap to fill our bath but want to renovate the bathroom and put in a themostatic mixer shower tap. We have chosen to get one of these as we don't fancy running pipes up the stud wall which isn't very thick yet we would like a shower. We have a combi boiler which reads 0.8 bar when not in use and goes up to 1.5 in use. All the taps I've seen apart from one which I don't like the look of say min 1 bar pressure, will that be ok? any advise on these type of taps will be gratefully recieved.

The pressure reading on the boiler refers to the heating loop. You need to measure your incoming mains water pressure (you'd be very unlucky to get less than 1 bar unless you live in London !)

What ever mixer/shower you select check that it is compatible with a combi boiler
