The 'sufficient head' would be my only concern. The basin may run fine, but the chances are the shower head will be higher than the basin faucet, likely reducing the head by about another 3ft.
One option is to run a mixer shower but do the plumbing in such a way that a pump can be fitted at a later date with minimum disruption if you decide you want it.
