Thermostatic radiator valves

Hi
I'm new, its my first post, so hello to everyone.

I recently replaced an old radiator with a new one in an old house. the new rad is now much warmer than the rest of the other rads.
Will fitting a thermostatic Radiator valve to the new rad solve the problem.
The central heating system is run of a solid fuel cooker with back boiler and I think the new rad is first in line from the hot supply from the cylinder.

Thanks for the response. I was advised against this, as it may cause the joint to leak??
