Hi all,
We're having our bath taken out and having a 900 x 900 corner shower fitted. ( We have a combi boiler ) We're also going for a thermostatically controlled shower, all from Plumbworld.....seems a good price £161 for the cubicle, tray and waste and £80 for shower itself....cheap price hope they're good. Anyway another site advertised showers ' Complete with shower kit ' ' What's that mean ?' The one I'm going for might not have this shower kit whatever that is ? any advice ?

Beware getting any own-branded shower valve, you may well find that you can't get spares for it when it breaks down. Much better to get a Mira/Triton/Aqualisa/Bristan branded shower that will remain serviceable in a few years time.

The shower kit is probably the riser rail, hose and head, if the one you've chosen doesn't have this you'll have to buy them seperately

Cheers muggles
Plumbworld do a Triton Unichrome Dove at £70 inc vat....not bad is it ? Also a Architeckt brand at £56 !! An easyfit wall fixing bracket is also available...does that mean these showers are HARD to fit if you don't get this bracket ?

Yes PITA if there is not a stud wall to run & fix pipes behind. Spend a little extra and get a dial type external thermostatic Mixer Shower, you can run nice chrome pipework externally dependent where your bathroom is going to be.

There are a few easy plumb brackets for bar showers on the market, what kind of wall do you have, is it stud or block? Is there access from the other side of the wall (EG in an airing cupboard)?

muggles,
The wall it's going on is solid brick...that's why the plumber suggested the bar type, I presume there's no need to chase out the wall ?

you get what you pay for. trust me, if you think for one minute your getting quality stuff for that money you may need to give your head a wobble...
