Hi guys, just joined the forum, brilliant advice everywhere.

I have just replaced a ratty old timber and polycarb conservatory with a rather nice new white aluminium and glass one. There is a hardwood floor in the living room (14mm oak on 18mm ply) and there is now a 32mm level difference between the two spaces (which will in the fullness of time have a rolling/sliding door between, subject for another post).

Tile thickness will be about 8mm including adhesive, leaving me with a need for a 24/25mm thick screed or summat. But 24mm seems awfully thin for a sand cement screed and all the pourable products I see are designed for sorta 3 - 8mm (and very expensive if laid thicker).

Any ideas?

Standard screed can be used down to 30mm but you would struggle with 20-25mm. Most latex self smoothing compounds can be bulked up with sand to 20-25mm. That's almost certainly your best option for a smallish area. Check with the instructions before purcahse.
