I'm just interested really, this roof is nothing to do with me, it a neighbour of my in laws.
The houses have concrete guttering, my in laws had it cut back with a grinder, the roofline was extended and a new box soffit/fascia created onto which they had fitted new guttering..... they are very happy.
The neighbour however used a different company and they took a pneumatic hammer to the concrete removing it all, they have then created wooden feet for the existing roof timbers so that they can rest on the now lower brick work. They have then fixed fascia board directly onto the "feet" but not filled in the gaps between the feet and the roof..... so behind the fascia board is huge gaps.
Now considering the feet are attached to the timbers with two screws and the roof is a considerable load is it conceivable that the whole structure will collapse?
