Hi all.

I tried to take the door handles off the bathroom door, but the thumb turn wouldn't budge! Turned to Youtube and thought I had found the answer (little grub screw underneath the thumb turn). I removed the screw completely but the thumb turn still won't budge! When I say it won't budge, I mean I just can't pull it off. I can turn it to lock and unlock the door so it's not stuck rotating wise. The door handles also move, so it's not them that are stuck. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for the reply. It is very similar to this. The other side has a handle as well, but with a coin turn instead of a thumb turn.

Yes, I can post a picture, see below.

But this is AFTER following your advice!

It did take some doing though! There was no gap at all on the thumb turn side, even for a tiny screwdriver, but there was a gap on the coin turn side. I tried a small screwdriver first and it wouldn't budge. I think even my screwdriver may have gotten bent! I then got a big screwdriver and bashed it with a hammer a good few times, but still no luck. I was about to give up but decided to bash it even harder and eventually the coin turn popped off! I am not sure if the person who fitted it must've used some sort of superglue or what!

Thanks for the advice!

Result. Sometimes you have to escalate which you did. Glad it's off.
