Wondering if anyone could give me some advice...
I rent out a flat and today I received a call from my tenant saying that
there is a "thumping noise" when they use the hot water tap in the bathroom.
Before calling the plumber I would like to ask you if you could give me
some help. The flat is also 50 miles away from where I stay so before
going there I am trying to understand well what I should do.
The situation is as follows:
1. The issue seems to happen only with the hot water tap in the bathroom sink (therefore no issues with the hot water bath tub or in the kitchen).
Also no issues with cold water taps.
2. I have a combi boiler "Glowworm" 24ci, which has been fitted 18 months ago.
3. The problem seems to have started just a couple of weeks ago, before there were never any issues.
4. The noise is proportional to the flow of water coming out of the tap: it
seems that the higher the flow the louder the noise. The noise suddenly stops if she suddenly turns off the tap. (Also the higher the flow the colder the water gets, but that is normal obviously as there is a combi boiler installed)
5. The hot water tap needs to be turned quite tight to turn the water off.
