Take that picture did you Rob?

There were some quite awesome flashes here earlier though it was quite a way away, seems to have gone quiet now but the storm clouds are still overhead. I love it! :D

I want a camera which will keep its shutter open so i can capture the flashes on film! can digi cameras do this?

My Olympus does 16 secs - with of course the ubiquitous - entire body made from magnesium alloy (apart from the compartment doors, inner lens barrel and LCD frame) - Sorry BigSpark ;) Not that it really matters more than an iota or so..

Shutter speeds :-
- Programmed Auto: 4 - 1/2000 sec
- Aperture Priority: 4 - 1/2000 sec
- Shutter priority: 4 - 1/1000 sec
- Manual: 16 - 1/1000 sec

The tilting lcd screen is very useful..

Can't beat a really big Tunder storm! The mrs hates them almost as much as the cat tho.

The ones abroad are something to see! Massive storm in Greece last year whilst we were there. Right after the forest fires on the Halkidiki peninsular. Went on for 3 hours in the middle of the day. Sounded like we were sat in a gopping great steel barrel with some bugger smacking the sides with a hammer!

T'was then followed by a flash flood.

... great holiday that was!

Oh very amusing. Any more of that nonsense and I'll get my friend ETHunter onto you.

Love storms....the louder the thunder, the better!!
Lightning too...unless I happen to be out...

and only if they're not really bad...like hurricanes or tornados.

HARD rain is best   (except in the case of flooding  )

You only get hard rain in the North, down in the South it's as soft as shi*te
