Tile cutting

What's the best way to cut a channel in a tile, by this i mean cutting a 2cm wide rectangle shape out from the middle of the tile to the edge, enabling the tile to fit round a unit edge on the floor.

So the tile would look like the below, with a channel to accept the unit base.

A number of was around this, would depend what tools you have.
I would measure and make up tile, scribe the cut, if the tile can be cut from the side, then run several parallel cuts using a wet cutter, to take the majority of the cut away, nibler the rest and file for clean edge.
