Can i tile straight over or is there some specific prep for tiling over glazed tiles?

you can tile over tile think maple sell some sort of addy for it m8ter thoet youed hacked them all off

simple answer is YES, you can tile on tile, BUT you gotta know what subtrate is under the original tiles mate as there probably will be a weight issue

Its good render and plaster. already removed two walls and had a hell of a job so looking to tile over tiles on bath wall and shower cubicle.

The shower wall tiles have a membrane under them. Its either tile over or those shower panels there?

is it not a tanking system under the tiles?

you have to be very careful what type of adhesive you use with tile on tile...but you have GLAZED tiles, which you can only use a few adhesive mate...

you can use..
bal...mosiac fix
or white star(tubbed addy) but with this your tiles cant be any bigger than 300mm,also you cant grout for at least 4/5 days

mapei..only one i can think of for glazed tiles is..keraflex.

ardex..again it will be one from the ardexFLEX range..

you will also need to prime the tiles fisrt so check what primer they would recommend..off the top of my head..primer g/ardexp8-...

also imo you will want to score the tiles with a tile scribe(for a good key).. then wash with sugar soap proir to any tiling.

Walls currently have 1970's 4inch marble effect tiles on the wall.... lovely (Not).
It looks like i have a lot of work on scoring them to get a key to tile over....

Never simple is it!

Plasered the other walls yesterday so getting there.... slowly!
