Hi All

We have an en suite that we're having ripped out and replaced. I came up with this design but the tiler says he doesn't have a mitre because they're too big to fit in his van and therefore he won't be able to tile 45º corners. Watching YouTube it seems that talented tilers use a handheld mitre so I'm wondering if the tiler I've spoken to just isn't able to do more complex designs.

What do you guys think of this design (this link is my 3D design): https://photos.app.goo.gl/voYPaBPTWxwcNitd8

Should I just go for 90º angles with edging trims?

It is your home and completely up to you. The tile edges will however need to be dressed you remove the sharp edge.

Polished/sanded to remove the razor sharp edges. I am guessing that the tiles are porcelain. That means that you will see a tiny, tiny bit of the base colour of the tile, which may well be different to the tile glazing.

Nice design
You are losing space in the room with the angles corners, is it for aesthetics only?

FYI I have tiled 45 degree external angles, and when carefully done and the tiles cut and sanded smooth looked great. 45 internal angles will be even simpler

Be aware that your walls/backer board will need to be perfectly flat and vertical to enable the tiler to do a good job

Thanks for your reply and input. It is for aesthetics because I'm not keen on the current 90⁰ corners we have. If we have normal corners I'm wondering what we'd do with the extra space (currently we just have a bin in one corner).

I'd pay someone to do the backing and tiling so hopefully they know what to do.

The tiler we had in said angles can't be easily done. He also said upstairs wetrooms leak so don't opt for that. I'm thinking I need to find someone else. Mine field.
