Im just starting to strip my bathroom before putting in a new suite and tiling al the walls. Some of the walls had wallpaper on which Ive managed to strip, but it looks like the walls were painted under the wallpaper. Im I right in saying that I’d be best scraping this all back down to the plasterboard?

Also Ive just removed some tiles from top of the other walls to allow plasterer into ceiling and noticed that tiles were just held on with a few blobs of adhesive, so Ive got bare plasterboard now. Will this be suitable for hanging heavyish tiles on, or will it need prepped with something?

Plasterboard with no skim coat can accommodate heavier tiles than plasterboard with a skim coat

No not completely its ripped a bit off the paper off

Also, for round the bath/shower, do I need to prep the walls with anything
