At the planning stage of my log burner install. And need some advice regarding tiling behind the stove.
Free standing stove with tiles behind and granite hearth.
So currently the wall is dot and dabbed plasterboard onto breeze block wall I installed 10yrs ago.
So as the plasterboard is combustible I’m looking at a solution to make it non combustible behind the stove.
So I’m thinking chop out plasterboard behind stove and install cement board in its place as I will need to make up approx 30mm to meet up with plasterboard again.
Can I use board addy or tile addy to make up the difference in height then mechanical fix thro board to breeze blocks and tile straight onto of cement board. Was thinking of cement rendering it but my rendering isn’t the best so boarding will be easier.
Any other solution for my issue,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
