Hi, hoping for some quick advice here.
I’m tiling the bottom half of a wall with a doorway in it.
Usually if it were a plain wall, it would be flat and you’d simply tile onto the wall with the trim on top and you effectively have 2 different levels.
But how do I go about it when I then have to fit architrave after? The top half of the wall should finish flush with the door frame so the arc fits nicely on top, but what about the tiles?
What’s the best practice? Sink the tiles so that they are flush with the top of the wall? That would look daft as the trim will be sunken too.
Heeelppp…..I’m struggling to visualise how it should look.

Fit the architrave and tile to the architrave.

That’s what I would do.
Not a tiler, but it is exactly what I did in my bathroom where the space next to the door hinges is the bath area.
Tiled up to the architrave, the other side of the door opening is wallpaper.
Anything else looks weird.

Perfectly simple, thanks guys. Dunno why I didn’t think of that, but hey…..that’s what this forum is for.
