Hello,

We'd like to have a new bathroom.

There are two existing layers of tiles which I want to see removed.

How much money in percentage would it save me if I ripped out these tiles myself and got someone to put the new ones in (rather than get a professional getting the two layers out as well as doing the new ones).

Thanks

probably for the time and effort you wouldnt save a great deal to be honest, and it would be only around 10 percent if that. it all depends on the siize of the room and the tiles etc. the only way to find out is get your tiler round and ask him the difference.

It all depends what sort of job you can do. Pulling two layers of tiles off invariably pulls off clunks of mortar/plaster.

if you can remove them all, square up the room, patch and skim I'd say you'd save the tiler at least two days and maybe a visit from a plasterer. So in such a case I'd offer you 50% discount.
However, if you could do that lot you'd be doing your own tiling too - so let a pro do the lot.
