Tiling on tiles.

All the DIY shows seem to go for tiling on top of existing tiles, it seems a good idea as I won't need to patch up replaster my wall.

But is it a good idea or simply a quick fix that could cause problems later on?

If the existing tiles are sound, why remove them, you know you have a nice flat surface & you can see how to adjust joints.
Down side you will lose room & maybe external corners will not look so nice.

Of course, at some time you have to stop this practice - otherwise you can't get into the room - it being only 1 foot by 1 foot!!

It's ok normally, if all existing is sound.
