Just a quick question, when tiling down to a bath should the tiles sit on the bath or should there be a gap of somekind?

Many thanks.

A small gap about the same as your grout line gaps, say 4mm.

This gap is caulked, or sealed, with silicone - not grout.

Leave a gap. I normally sit the tiles on tile spacers laid flat on the bath edge. 2-3mm should be ok. Don't grout along the bottom edge, just use silicon pushed well into the gap. I also normally silicon the bath to the wall before the tiles are fixed so that there is a double barrier. And, don't forget to fill the bath with water before siliconing. For best results, use masking tape along bath edge and wall to produce a nice straight line. Apply silicon, then push in with a wet finger (using a continuous motion, making sure it goes right in. Remove tape before it sets then finish off with a light wet finger.
