I'm building a small timber frame cavity wall above a new window. There's no lintel as its fixed to an adjoining wall.

With a brick wall, I usually put some DPM in as a cavity tray with weep vents above the window.

Having never built a timber cavity, I was wondering if it's the same principle with either DPM or roofing membrane? If anyone could suggest a suitable weep vent to use it would be appreciated..

Thanks

It's exactly the same principle, with a cavity tray at all openings and depending on the frame design, a continuous cavity tray at floor level.

The weep vent can be just an open perpendicular joint every 900mm
