Hello guys,

I'm looking for some advice. My dad has got timber frame wooden windows and conservatory, he has used what he called good quality paint but 24 months in and it looks like it hasn't been done for 24 years.

Can anyone recommend a white paint that will stand the test of time?

Much appreciated

for outdoor woodwork, a microprous paint allows it to breathe and moisture to escape without pushing the paint off.

softwood joinery tends to get bad at the joints

preparation is the key, including rubbing down, removing loose or cracked old paint or stain, and applying a paint system of primer/undercoat/topcoat that are compatible.

you have not said in what ways the old paint looks bad.

White Sadolin Superdec gloss.
It's water-based, quick-drying, easy to use and doesn't seem to peel off wood, assuming you have rubbed it down first.

Can be used on bare wood or previously painted wood.
